Chase Elliott Confident that He can Perform Well in the NASCAR Playoffs

The NASCAR regular season is finally over and the playoffs will soon begin next week. In light of this, Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott spoke to SiriusXM NASCAR Radio about the playoffs. He said, “We obviously wish that we had more wins than the other guys, but I’m confident that we have been on a roll.”

He noted that if the right things happen at the right time, it can really help the team in the long run. This is why he is looking forward to duking it out with the other 15 contenders, and he is confident of the team’s abilities.

Can Chase Elliott reach the final 4?

The driver confessed that he did not think that two wins or a bonus point is enough to stay safe. He believes that stage points will also play a vital role in staying alive in the championship.

According to Chase Elliott, if he grabs a couple of wins, stage wins and bonus points, he has a chance. He also revealed that even though he has five playoff seasons’ worth of experience, he still has a lot to learn.

Elliott is aware that every year offers new challenges, and he is certainly looking forward to it. He currently sits in 5th place, 37 points adrift of Kevin Harvick. However, he has a chance to boost himself up the order if he can outscore everyone.

Chase Elliott is one of 3 Hendrick Motorsport drivers who made it into the playoffs. Sadly, the fourth car of Jimmie Johnson will not be joining them. The NASCAR veteran missed out on the playoffs for the second year in a row. Sadly, this was his last chance to make it.

What makes it even more gutting is that Johnson is walking away from full-time racing at the end of 2020. So, Chase Elliott, William Byron and Alex Bowman will try and gun for the title for him.
