“God Walking on Earth”: Kyrie Irving Pens Emotional Tribute for Kobe Bryant

It has been almost 8 months since the Legendary Kobe Bryant left all of us. His untimely death in a helicopter crash along with his daughter and seven others came as a shock to everyone. The wounds are still fresh from this news and people got even more emotional when his 42nd Birthday came about. One of the many players that paid their tributes to Kobe, Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving was one of them.

Kyrie Irving is known to be a very good friend to Kobe Bryant. He had a very emotional reaction to his death and showed his sentiments in a video tribute to him on the Legend’s 42nd Birthday. At the beginning of the video itself, he describes Kobe as, “God walking on earth.” But then says, “you realize that now all that’s left is beautiful memories.”

Alongside his speech in the background, a montage of Kobe’s pictures and videos are playing along. Irving talks about Kobe’s significance in his life. “Kobe means to me what it means to plant seeds and watch them grow. To endure pain, trauma, and hurt, and go through an array of negative emotions, how you feel about yourself.” described Kyrie. He explains that Kobe has always been the person he looked up to and inspired him.

He said, “That’s all I learned from Kobe was to challenge yourself every day, to be better.” The video talks about all the support that Kobe Bryant has given to the WNBA and all kinds of different issues that have come up in the league. Kyrie explained the purpose behind the video as well. “I wanted to make this video with all intensive purposes that this could be part of his legacy and part of the family’s legacy.”

Throughout the video, they also showcase famous lines said by Kobe that has inspired and motivated others over the years.

Kobe Bryant has played for the Los Angeles Lakers throughout his life and has made a name for himself so much that the franchise get’s recognized because of his name. The five-time NBA champion and 18-time All-Star will forever be listed as the best in the league and will be remembered for all the talent he showcased over the years and all the help that he provided people during his journey.
