A while back, Triller announced that the fight will be moved back to November 28 from the initial date. The shift was aimed at bringing in more viewers for the pay-per-view. As far as Jones Jr. is concerned, the shift has led to him changing a lot of plans. Consequently, he wants his share of compensation.

“For me, it was more about pushing to go ahead and do it, firstly because I’m focused and you need to stay focused. I’ve had to cancel other stuff to be out here, it’s upset my calendar, I’ve got to change things. That’s why we have to table bulls**t now,” Jones Jr. said while talking to Daily Mail.

Jones, who retired in 2018, lives in Russia.

Roy Jones Jr. doesn’t want to mess up his year after agreeing for September 12

The lawyers of Jones Jr. are currently in talks to manage the whole situation. However, if things don’t go as expected then he will no option but to pull away from the fight.

“If they don’t make it make sense, it (the fight) would be off. Why would I change the date and mess up the rest of my year when I agreed to September 12. They said they wanted to get a crowd, if you want to get a crowd, that’s a different type of money. If you want a big event, that’s a different type of money,” he added.

The fans are excited to see the two former champs back into the squared circle. Although the fight is billed as an exhibition, there is no argument regarding the power that resides in the gloves of the two.

Therefore, the fans can only hope that Jones Jr. gets the compensation that he wants and the event can go on as planned.
