“He’s the Leader of our Football Team”- Offensive Coordinator of Buffalo Bills Show Total Confidence on Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills’ young quarterback Josh Allen was a revelation in 2019. Allen was one of the standout performers in his rookie year but took that up a notch last season. He led the Bills to a 10-6 record under Sean McDermott.

Allen is tipped for yet another prime year in the NFL over the course of the next 12 months. At such a young age, Allen holds the Bills franchise record for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a single season. He’s definitely a fan favorite already. But this Buffalo Bills coach had something special to say about their star player.

Buffalo Bills’ offensive coordinator Brian Daboll had special praise reserved for his star quarterback.

“I’ve said this plenty of times before; Josh is a guy that has come in, has worked hard and aims to improve every day, and he has done that every day since he’s been here. I have total confidence in him as a player and as a person. He just needs to keep grinding out, we all do, keep grinding out to get better. He’s a hard-working quarterback, he’s a hard-working player, and he’s a good leader. He’s the leader of our football team.”

Speaking to Democrat Chronicle about continuity ahead of 2020 season, Daboll further added, “Continuity is not as important as playing well and doing your job. You can be together for a long time and go out there and not play well or coach well or do things well and it really doesn’t matter. Our whole focus is just taking each day as they come and really making the most out of them.”

As I circled the stadium in celebration last night, I ran into a familiar face who happened to be my Junior College Offensive Coordinator, the one man who believed in me out of high school when no other coach did. He recruited me and wanted me to play for him. A man I am extremely grateful for for allowing me to continue playing the game I love, and for it to come full circle gives me great joy. Allen had a productive 2019 season with the Bills. The 24-year old threw for 3,000+ yards while playing in 16 games last season. The Bills starter also made his debut at number 87 in the NFL Top 100 list earlier this year. The Bills start their 2020 campaign with a home game against New York Jets on September 13, 2020. Can they pick up where they left off in 2019?
